Eldor's story

The garage was in Orsenigo, a small town in Northern Italy.
Pasquale Forte decided to follow his instincts, rather than confining himself to social norms and expectations. In doing so, he followed his passions and founded a company.
Initially, this was a small enterprise, but in his dreams, he saw it grow into something much bigger.

“We’ll see it when we believe in it” is not a mere slogan, but a constant and practical outlook on life. This maxim has always guided him and it also engages the company’s internal and external collaborators.

This small yet great company initially developed wound components for radio and television sets: high-tension transformers.

To express his passion for electronics and to honour Orsenigo, the town where his company was founded, Pasquale Forte invented a name for his company from the two words Elettronica d’Orsenigo: Eldor.

Pasquale Forte is the standard-bearer for this value, a quality passed to him from his family.

Accordingly, every product Eldor manufactures must respect this value.

Mr. Forte knows that a product originates from an idea and a process, and it is a streamlined process that ensures we will achieve a defect-free product.

Eldor’s manufacturing processes are automated, but simple.

The end result was to create a company within a company.

The mission of this inner company was to design and develop automated production lines. From this moment onwards, all production lines were developed in-house. These operations remain secret, an intrinsic asset of the Group, and a great competitive advantage.

He waited until 1991 and then opened his first factory abroad, in Izmir, Turkey.

Eldor has continued to expand its manufacturing plants and commercial offices, and the Group’s future growth plans include further expansion.

but Pasquale Forte understood that traditional television was going to outrun its cycle within, at the most, ten years’ time.

He made his decisions because he believed not in what he was seeing but in what he saw for the future.
He invested heavily in the Automotive industry.

In 1999, a new intuition convinced him to open a battery division, seeing this as a sector with enormous potential, which then led to current-day hybrid electric technology. More intuitions were to follow.

Pasquale Forte reached this conclusion the same year in which Eldor achieved its best results in high tension transformer technology, becoming a world leader in consumer electronics.
The change came about as a result of the company’s transformation, with a new directive towards the Automotive Industry.
Eldor started out anew, but with its past successful experience, lean processes, and talented people with enthusiasm for challenges.

This award was the result of Eldor’s patented technology for analyzing ionizing current, developed at the firm’s research centre of Bologna and is the first of many public awards presented by major car manufacturers.

Eldor was the first company in the Automotive industry to design a fully hybrid system for motorcycles.

This record was achieved through the company’s drive towards research on systems with low environmental impact.

Today, Eldor is still fully committed to reducing CO₂ emissions, and our dream is to achieve zero emissions.

the company decided to build and open a technologically advanced factory specifically for manufacturing ignition systems for the local Automotive industry.

The location chosen was Dalian, a city in north China.

The company’s programme of expansion continued and, the same year, Eldor landed in Brazil, seen as the ideal base for expanding into South America.

Eldor opened soon its first manufacturing plant in Latin America, at Indaiatuba (San Paulo) in 2013.

In 2015, Volkswagen Powertrain China awarded Eldor its “Quality Gold Trophy”.

That same year, Eldor opened its new and very modern headquarters in Orsenigo, the company’s birthplace.

To believe and so see, to have integrity, and to trust in your choices and vision were all factors that made this result possible – because, if you can dream something, you can make it reality.

This expansion led to capturing the markets in the United States and Japan.

In March, the President of Eldor, Pasquale Forte, and the governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, made a joint announcement about Eldor’s investment to build a plant in Virginia.

A few months later, Eldor opened a technical and commercial office in Yokohama, Japan.

Eldor opened a technical and commercial office in South Korea and entered new business sectors.

Eldor wants to go further and “invest” in the future of mobility. This wish was achieved with various investments related to new e-mobility technologies (vehicle electrification, charging stations, autonomous driving, energy, ...).

For this occasion, Eldor’s Logo is “travelling” in the company of a rather special number 50, where the zero is inspired by the ancient mandorla symbol, the element at the core of Eldor’s corporate trademark.
